The Hellyers Road Distillery was founded in 1997 dairy farming families. With a bold belief that the wild and and remote north-west of Tasmania was the perfect environment for making single malt whisky. This brand is now a multiple award winner of global recognition of the whisky they create.
We are thrilled to introduce to you the first release in our the Hellyers Road Sherry Cask Series. This unique and limited fully sherry cask matured single malt whisky has been carefully nurtured over 7 years in their premium Oloroso Sherry casks. The combination of the unique Hellyers Road signature spirit flavour profile complimented by soft, sweet fruit furnishings creates a single malt whisky that embodies the ‘less is more’ philosophy. While many Sherry cask releases rely on a battering of Christmas fruit richness to deliver flavour, at Hellyers Road, they believe in the harmonious balance between the unique spirit, their premium casks and the nuances of the ageing process. Official Tasting Notes
Scents of sweet tobacco and raisin present, as the palate detects dark chocolate and seared citrus with a spicy overlay. An elegant, smooth oily sweetness envelops around notes of vanilla and dried fruits with a hint of chilli and cloves bowing to a lingering, graceful finish.
