The Elements of Islay are a range of iconic, small-batch, expertly sourced independently bottled whiskies. The Limited Edition range consists of single malt bottlings from individual Islay distilleries identified with periodic symbols and batch numbers (Lp1, Ar2, and so on). They are bottled either as single casks or as small batches between 3 and 20 carefully selected casks. These expressions celebrate the distilleries’ individual character while presenting a balanced and characterful whisky bottled at full proof.
This 11th Elements of Islay bottling is part of the ‘Lg’ range. Now with so few distilleries on the island I’m very confident we can easily work out which mystery distillery this is from! This should be very popular and with only 1,067 bottles being released for world wide distribution it should disappear extremely quickly.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Lobster fishing, medicinal, some fresh herbal notes, earthy honey sweetness and balanced peat smoke.
Palate: Charred pineapples, cured meats, charred oak, delicate notes of peat smoke with dark caramel and sea spray.
Finish: Maritime notes, bonfire embers, baking spices and Manuka honey.
