The whisky industry in Australia is certainly taking off with so many distilleries opening their doors and now able to supply legal whisky to taste and purchase.
We’ll never forget some of the original distilleries that started it all in our great country and Hellyers Road distillery is just that. Currently Australia’s biggest selling locally crafted whisky and looking to expand and build on a solid background of distilling.
One of the older age statement whiskies produced and matured in our great country this 15 years old has been picking up a few awards since it was first bottled. Silver in the Australian Distilled Spirits Awards 2019 and a Category Winner in the World Whisky Awards 2019.
Matured in ex-Bourbon American oak barrels for no less than 15 years and no colouring. This whisky shows citrus, vanilla and oak.
Tasting Notes
Nose: Freshly cut grass leads to shaved oak and splashes of lemon citrus.
Palate: Kiwi fruit, passion fruit and freshly made fruit pudding, grapefruit and vanilla spice.
Finish: Pencil shavings, garden mint and floral.
