Nc’nean distillery is a Scotch whisky distillery in Drimnin on the Morvern peninsula of the Highlands, Scotland. The distillery is beside the Sound of Mull, opposite the Isle of Mull. The distillery name Nc’nean, comes from ‘Neachneohain’, a Gaelic legend which translates as the Queen of Spirits (it is pronounced Nc-ne-an). The distillery focuses on producing an organic spirit with minimum impact on the local environment.The distillery was the first in the UK to reach net zero carbon emissions during whisky production. The distillery uses renewable electricity, offsets emissions by forest planting and uses 100% recycled glass in its bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Team Nc’nean are back, thanks to this independent bottling by That Boutique-y Whisky Company. This is the second bottling from the company of single malt whisky from Nc’nean. This second batch is a release of 356 bottles, all presented at 59.8% abv, and having been aged for 3 years. Part of the Home Nations Series, the label shows the colourful characters at Nc’nean engaging in all types of mythic activities.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Jasmine and summer blossom, freshly crushed vanilla pods and garden herbs.
Palate: Luscious sweet honey, Christmas cake spices and digestive biscuits with citrus.
Finish: Medium to long with a kick of spice. Sumptuous.
