The Spirit Thief Distilling Co started out in Tasmania in 2015 as an independent bottler with a difference. From the outset they were focused on creating a portfolio of varietal specific red-wine cask matured whiskies. Over the past six years they have done some unique collaborations and gypsy-distilling projects with renowned distilleries and sourced rare casks internationally under their Exploration Series releases, most of which have now sold out. The jewel in the crown and the last in this Series is their 11yo Benrinnes single cask matured in a first fill Bordeaux cask from Château Gruaud-Larose, bottled at natural cask strength of 55.2% abv.
Sample whiskies will include:
15ml New Zealand Whisky Co, Pinot Noir & American Oak Bourbon cask matured at 48.1% abv
15ml Benrinnes, 11yo, Château Gruaud-Larose Bordeaux cask matured at 55.2% abv
15ml Spirit Thief American Oak Shiraz cask matured at 48.3% abv
15ml Spirit Thief French Oak Tempranillo cask matured at 48.3% abv
15ml Spirit Thief American Oak Tempranillo cask matured at 55.2% abv
