This special-edition whisky is a celebration of the Starward founder, David Vitale, and is named after the Latin origin of his family name Vitalis, meaning ‘life’. Vitalis is Starward Distilleries opportunity to celebrate where they’ve been and where they’re going.
Vitalis is a limited-edition single malt whisky matured in a combination of tawny, bourbon, apera (1st fill and 2nd fill) and rum barrels based on their connection to the Starward 15-year journey. Vitalis was matured in these barrels anywhere from 4-10 years, before being carefully assembled to create what you see (and hopefully get the chance to taste) today. According to Dave Vitale, Starward’s founder, the best way to enjoy Vitalis is neat, alongside a home cooked, sentimental meal. Basically, you should enjoy it with the ones you love – preferably around a dining room table. Bottled at 52% ABV and is a limited edition bottling.
Our Tasting Notes
Nose: Dark toffee notes, raisins covered in milk chocolate, cocoa dusted toasted pineapple and polished oak.
Palate: Dried dark fruits complimented by roasted coffee beans, ripe red currants, and a signature Starward tropical fruit medley.
Finish: Long and creamy with fruity oily notes and delicious balanced oak.
